ELECTION ALERT: President confirms re-election bid

FEBMAR2010RACE

TITULIA CITY | President Gerry Brady (ALP) confirmed his re-election bid with Vice President Reformer (SDP) via a blog post today. President Brady is highly popular and is ahead in the polls, but is in close range with Mick the Cat (SDP). Pres. Brady stated:

I dont wish to precipitate the silly season that usually surrounds elections here but given that it is now less than a week before an election can be called I wish to announce publicly what some know privately, that being myself and my VP Refomer will be seeking a re election under the SDP-ALP banner.

This comes after much deliberation and discussion in private with a number of citizens. I feel there is much left to be completed  even though we have accomplished or are close to accomplishing many of the goals set out in our previous election manifesto.

I would like to thank the kind words of all those who have encouraged me to seek re-election and I hope we can work together to ensure we have a second productive term for the republic.

I will be proposing an confirming an election manifesto for a second term as soon as the election is called. If you have any concerns or problems you wish me to look at dealing with or raise in the election please feel free to come to me and I will address them if at all possible.

Regards,

Gerry

No other person has declared to run against President Brady, but some do want Mick the Cat to challenge him.
